WE SHOULD ALL BECOME LOUDER – Savagnin 2022

Savagnin — known here as Roter Traminer — is not a quiet grape. Floral, forward, with a natural intensity that doesn’t need much encouragement. This one gets five days of skin contact: long enough to pull colour and texture, short enough to keep the acid alive and the wine moving.

Five days changes the shape without changing the direction. What could have been a straightforward white becomes something with more presence — a little amber at the edges, a little grip — but the drinking flow stays intact. This is not a wine that asks you to slow down and contemplate. It pulls you forward.

Reduction on release, a finish that lingers. The wine holds on.

The name came from the label, and the label came from a moment. 2024. Two elections — Germany and the United States — and a growing sense that silence was becoming its own kind of statement. Someone needed to speak up. The question the wine leaves open is the right one: who is we, exactly? Whoever picks up the bottle and decides it matters.

Unsulfured. Minimal intervention. Bottled when it was ready.
